Job Description

Job Purpose:

 This role is integral to the Business Development function of Kerten Hospitality (KH) in India by supporting the team in the successful implementation of the company’s growth strategy. This includes managing market intelligence, scouting robust owner relations, structuring sensible pitches and commercial offers throughout the deal lifecycle. 

The role reports into the Kerten Hospitality India leadership with a dotted line to the global Chief Development Officer.

 

Key responsibilities are as follows:

1.  Development Strategy. Support the continuous evolution of Development strategy for India through market intelligence and research. Identify target markets, conversion opportunities and attractive owning companies/partners in line with the overall business strategy of KH.

2.  Deal Sourcing. Maintain close relationships across the hotel Owner community and investment / consultancy firms. Work jointly with the Development team and India leadership on screening management and franchise deals. Similarly assist other Kerten Hospitality business leaders to pursue opportunities identified by other divisions within the company pertaining to the Indian market. 

3.   Deal Assessment. Carry out financial analysis and due diligence on proposed hotel projects, including financial projections required to determine the viability of each deal. Maintain close relationship with other international operators for market intelligence purposes.

4.  Deal Preparation. Prepare pitch documents in line with RFPs and Owner requirements. Safekeep and manage regional presentations and Development collaterals. Support and carry out live presentations. Prepare and structure commercial offers in line with deal assessment, financial analysis undertaken, and development framework of Kerten Hospitality.

5.   Deal Presentation. Present recommended deals and all required supporting analysis for internal approval.

6.   Functional Alignment. Ensure an effective alignment between Development and other critical divisions including Operations, Sales and Finance. Support the on-going commercial efforts of KH which will require having the flexibility to work on multiple projects in parallel, and the confidence and common sense to facilitate and advance the business efforts of the company.

7.   Admin Safeguarding. Manage all Development processes and administration with regards to trackers, CRM and document control.
