JOB DESCRIPTION
Business Development (BDM), Teertham
Location: Delhi NCR
Role Type: Fulltime, Inoffice
Reports To: Chief of Staff
Function: Business Development
ROLE SUMMARY
Teertham’s BD team is responsible for building, scaling, and maintaining a high-quality Acharya network across India. This is not a typical sales BD role — this is building supply side for a spiritual services,, where quality, reliability, and trust matter more than anything else.
The BD executive will:
• Source Acharyas
• Screen & verify them
• Train them
• Maintain availability
• Ensure quality and behaviour standards
• Act as the primary point of contact for the entire Acharya ecosystem
• Ensure we NEVER run out of supply
This is a high-coordination, on-ground + operational + relationship-building role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Acharya Sourcing & Acquisition
• Identify and onboard Acharyas from:
• Temples, community groups, purohit associations
• Existing Acharya referrals
• Managing WhatsApp networks
• Field visits
• Pooja-specific clusters (e.g., Bengali, South Indian, Gujarati Acharyas)
• Build a scalable supply pipeline for upcoming festivals and peak seasons.
2. Screening & Vetting
• Conduct structured interviews with Acharyas
• Evaluate:
• Experience
• Ritual expertise
• Tradition type (North Indian / South Indian / Bengali etc.)
• Communication clarity
• Professionalism
• Review documents:
• Aadhaar
• Bank details
• Past pooja videos
• Photos
Reject candidates who do not meet Teertham’s behavioural and quality expectations.
3. Training & Onboarding
• Educate Acharyas on:
• Teertham standards & SOPs
• Punctuality norms
• Customer etiquette
• Ritual uniformity (standard vidhis)
• App usage (check-in, check-out, logs)
• Ensure every Acharya completes:
• Orientation
• Test pooja (if required)
• App training
• In-field readiness
4. Daily Acharya Coordination
• Track daily availability
• Confirm assignments and schedules
• Communicate pooja details (type, duration, location, requirements)
• Follow up on:
• Arrival
• Timing
• Completion
• Issues faced
You will ensure 100% clarity for every pooja.
5. Quality Assurance & Performance Monitoring
• Monitor punctuality
• Analyse customer feedback
• Identify behaviour issues
• Maintain Acharya performance scorecards
• Work with CS Ops to resolve pooja-day issues
• Implement corrective actions (retraining / suspension if needed)
Your goal: build a reliable, premium-quality Acharya network.
6. Capacity Planning & Forecasting
• Work with Sales + CS Ops to understand:
• Daily demand
• Festival surges
• Location-wise gaps
• Ritual-wise specialization shortages
• Build a proactive supply plan that ensures ZERO pooja failures due to lack of Acharya availability.
7. Relationship Management
• Build long-term relationships with Acharyas
• Maintain ongoing communication
• Handle grievances professionally
• Plan community meet-ups & training sessions
• Ensure Acharyas feel valued, respected, and engaged
A healthy relationship network = reliable supply.
8. Issue Resolution (Real-Time)
• Handle sudden cancellations
• Find backup Acharyas within minutes
• Resolve conflicts between Acharyas & customers
• Coordinate with CS Ops during emergency situations
• Maintain calm, solution-oriented communication
You must be fast, decisive, and dependable.
REQUIREMENTS — IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
Experience
• 1–4 years in:
• BD / Ops roles in startups
• Supply-side operations (Urban Company, Zomato, Swiggy, Zepto, Ola/Uber AED)
• Vendor onboarding
• Marketplace operations
• On-ground coordination roles
Experience working with culturally diverse groups of people is a big plus.
Skills
• Strong communication & relationship-building
• Ability to manage 50–200 Acharya relationships
• High-speed coordination
• Strong organisational skills
• Ability to stay calm during stressful situations
• Quick problem solving
• On-ground hustle + professional conduct
• Comfortable with tech apps (CRM, internal panel, WhatsApp workflows)
