Inc42 Media is looking for a dynamic and well-networked professional to join the Founder’s Office team, with a strong foundation in journalism, reporting, or editorial roles—particularly covering and analysing government, public policy, and regulatory ecosystems. This role sits at the intersection of media, policy, and strategic partnerships, and requires someone who understands how government narratives are shaped and communicated.

         Key Responsibilities:

• Own the government & public policy intelligence engine for Inc42: track, interpret and summarise key developments across DPIIT, MeitY, Ministry of Finance, sector regulators, and state governments — with clear implications for startups, investors, and incumbents.
• Convert policy signals into editorial and strategic opportunities: identify story angles, research themes, and ecosystem narratives emerging from government priorities, consultations, budgets, circulars, and regulatory actions.
• Build and manage high-trust relationships with government and institutional stakeholders: maintain an active pipeline of relevant contacts across ministries, departments, regulators, think tanks, and state ecosystems; ensure continuity beyond one-off interactions. 
• Support Founder’s Office-led collaborations with government and institutions: assist in shaping outreach, proposals, and engagement plans for policy-facing initiatives (roundtables, campaigns, institutional partnerships), and help take them from concept to execution.
• Facilitate high-level interactions: coordinate interviews, closed-door conversations, roundtables, and on-ground visits involving senior officials, policymakers, and ecosystem leaders — including briefing notes, agendas, and post-meeting outputs.
• Develop crisp policy briefs and internal memos: create decision-ready outputs for leadership — 1-page briefs, stakeholder notes, risk assessments, and opportunity maps tailored to Inc42’s editorial and business priorities.
• Work cross-functionally to execute policy-driven narratives: collaborate with editorial, research, events/community, and BrandLabs teams to ensure policy themes are accurately represented and consistently positioned across formats.
• Represent Inc42 in relevant forums: attend government-led events, consultations, ecosystem meetings and policy discussions; document takeaways, identify follow-ups, and flag high-signal leads. Maintain a structured tracker of stakeholder engagements and policy calendar
  
  Ideal Candidate Profile:
  
  
• 4–5 years of experience in journalism, reporting, editorial, or policy-focused roles
• Prior experience covering government, public policy, or regulatory beats is a must
• Strong network within government bodies, ministries, or policy think tanks including Meity, Ministry of Finance, DPIIT, State government cabinet officials and secretaries
• Proven experience in interviewing or engaging with government officials and senior bureaucrats
• Excellent communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to translate complex policy developments into actionable business insights
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
