Role Summary

We are looking for a focused and technically sound Electrical Planning & Engineering Intern to support project execution. You will work hands-on with electrical design, site monitoring, and documentation tasks — including BOM and BOQ preparation — under the guidance of senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Planning & Design

•    Assist in electrical system planning, load calculations, and single-line diagram (SLD) preparation.

•    Prepare and review electrical drawings, layouts, and schematics using AutoCAD/CAD tools.

•    Perform voltage drop, load balancing, and short circuit calculations for project sites.

•    Support selection of electrical equipment — panels, cables, switchgear, lighting — per project specs.

BOM & BOQ Preparation

•    Prepare detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) for electrical systems, listing all components, specifications, and quantities.

•    Draft Bill of Quantities (BOQ) aligned to project scope, enabling accurate cost estimation and procurement.

•    Coordinate with procurement team to validate BOM items against vendor catalogs and standards.

•    Maintain and update BOM/BOQ documents as design revisions are incorporated.

Project Site Monitoring

•    Conduct regular site visits to monitor electrical installation progress against drawings and timelines.

•    Verify material usage on-site matches approved BOM; flag deviations promptly.

•    Track work completion milestones and report daily/weekly progress to the project lead.

•    Ensure installations comply with IS codes, safety standards, and project specifications.

•    Support testing, commissioning, and punch-list resolution during project close-out.

Coordination & Reporting

•    Liaise with project managers, civil/MEP contractors, and vendors for smooth execution.

•    Maintain project documentation — inspection records, material approvals, site observation reports.

•    Raise and track technical queries (RFIs) and ensure timely resolution.

Qualifications

•    B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (pursuing final year or recently graduated).

•    Hands-on knowledge of CAD tools for electrical drawings.

•    Familiarity with electrical codes and standards (IS, NBC).

•    Strong analytical and documentation skills.

•    Good communication skills; ability to work on-site and in a team environment.
