Hardware Engineer (Chip-Level) – Laptop Repair

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Hardware Engineer with strong chip-level troubleshooting expertise to diagnose, repair, and maintain laptop hardware. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in motherboard-level repairs and be comfortable working with complex electronic components.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform chip-level diagnosis and repair of laptop motherboards
• Identify and replace faulty components such as ICs, MOSFETs, capacitors, resistors, and connectors
• Analyze schematics, board views, and circuit diagrams to troubleshoot hardware issues
• Repair power, charging, display, boot, and overheating issues
• Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, soldering/rework stations, and thermal cameras
• Conduct functional testing and quality checks after repair
• Maintain repair records and document fault analysis
• Follow ESD and safety procedures at all times

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Proven experience in chip-level laptop repair
• Strong knowledge of motherboard architecture and electronic circuits
• Proficiency in SMD soldering, BGA rework, and micro-soldering
• Ability to read schematics and board-level diagrams
• Familiarity with major laptop brands (Dell, HP, Lenovo, Apple, etc.)
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills
