Housekeeping Staff

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Cleaning & Sanitizing: Thoroughly clean guest rooms, restrooms, public areas, and hallways, including scrubbing toilets, showers, and sinks.
• Surface Maintenance: Dust furniture, polish fixtures, clean mirrors, and wipe down surfaces to remove stains and dirt.
• Floor Care: Vacuum carpets and rugs, and sweep and mop hard floors.
• Linen Management: Strip, wash, dry, and fold linens, and make beds with fresh sheets.
• Stocking Supplies: Replenish toiletries, towels, soap, and other guest amenities.
• Trash Removal: Empty waste bins and dispose of waste correctly.
• Reporting & Maintenance: Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damages to management.
• Safety Compliance: Follow hygiene protocols, handle cleaning chemicals safely, and manage biohazardous waste (especially in hospitals). 

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and push cleaning carts for long periods (often up to 50 lbs).
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to ensuring spotless, well-organized spaces.
• Time Management: Ability to complete all tasks within scheduled shifts.
• Communication: Basic communication skills for interacting with guests and team members.
• Experience: Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience is often preferred but not always required.
