HVAC Technician

Key responsibilities

Installation: Install new HVAC systems, components, and electrical wiring in residential and commercial buildings.

Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, system checks, cleaning, and adjustments to ensure optimal performance.

Repair: Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in HVAC systems, replacing worn or defective parts as needed.

Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve system malfunctions by testing and inspecting components.

Customer service: Interact with clients to discuss problems, explain repairs, and recommend ways to improve system efficiency.

Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all service, maintenance, and installation activities.

Safety compliance: Ensure all work complies with safety policies, OSHA standards, and other relevant regulations. 

Necessary skills and qualifications

Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

Knowledge of electrical and mechanical components of HVACR systems.

Proficiency in reading work plans and blueprints.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities.

Valid driver's license and a clean driving record may be required.

Experience in the HVAC field, with varying amounts depending on the role.

High school diploma or GED is typically required.
