Internet Technician

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Internet Technician to join our local operations team. The role involves hands-on field work, troubleshooting, and installation of internet services. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of internet devices, configuration, and optical fiber technology, ensuring reliable connectivity for customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain internet devices (routers, modems, switches, Wi-Fi access points).
• Perform field visits to diagnose and resolve connectivity issues for residential and commercial clients.
• Handle optical fiber installation, splicing, and testing to ensure optimal performance.
• Conduct routine maintenance and upgrades of network infrastructure.
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers on device usage and configuration.
• Document service activities, repairs, and installations accurately.
• Collaborate with the technical team to improve service quality and efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of internet devices, networking protocols, and configuration.
• Hands-on experience with optical fiber installation and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with LAN/WAN setups, IP addressing, and basic network security.
• Ability to work independently in the field and manage multiple service calls.
• Good communication skills for customer interaction.
• Electronics, or related field preferred.
• Prior experience in ISP.

Work Environment

• Field-based role with travel across the local area.
• Requires physical activity such as climbing poles, handling fiber cables, and working outdoors.
