Logistics Executive

Role SummaryWe are looking for a result-oriented Senior Fleet Manager to oversee our transportation operations. The primary responsibility is to ensure that our fleet is utilized to its maximum capacity, maintained in top condition, and that all trips are executed on time. You will be responsible for end-to-end trip management, including load sourcing and driver coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fleet Optimization: Ensure maximum vehicle utilization by scheduling regular trips and minimizing vehicle idle time.
• Trip & Route Management: Plan and monitor daily trips to ensure timely deliveries and pickups. Track vehicle movement to ensure adherence to schedules.
• Market Load Sourcing: Proactively find and arrange genuine market loads and coordinate with third-party brokers/vendors when internal loads are unavailable.
• Loading & Unloading Oversight: Coordinate directly with customers and warehouse staff to ensure smooth, timely loading and unloading operations.
• Driver Supervision: Manage a team of drivers, monitor their performance, ensure discipline, and address any on-road issues or grievances.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee the mechanical health of the fleet. Schedule preventive maintenance and ensure quick turnaround times for repairs to prevent operational delays.
• Cost & Compliance: Monitor fuel consumption and operational expenses. Ensure all vehicle documents (Insurance, Permits, Fitness) are up to date.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum 5+ years of core experience in fleet management or logistics operations.
• Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of the transport market, broker networks, and freight sourcing.
• Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with both corporate customers and ground-level drivers.
• Problem Solving: Quick decision-making skills to handle breakdowns, route diversions, or loading delays.
• Reporting: Good computer skills, excel, mail drafting to maintain trip logs and provide daily operational updates.
