ROLE SUMMARY

The National Manager Operations in the Insurance Vertical of Muthoot FinCorp oversees and manage day-to-day operational activities related to Insurance Products . This position requires a deep understanding of financial products, compliance, and client service. The Manager is responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and seamless client experiences within the Insurance department.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Oversight

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the Insurance department, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure high-quality client service by addressing client queries and issues promptly, managing client onboarding and offboarding processes, and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.

Reporting, Compliance and Risk

  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure that all Insurance operations comply with relevant laws and regulations in the Indian financial industry.
  • Collaborate with risk management teams to identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks associated with Insurance department activities.
  • Generate regular reports on operational metrics, analyze data to identify trends, and provide insights to senior management for decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure uninterrupted operations in case of unforeseen events.
  • Conduct due diligence on new clients, investment products, and counterparties to ensure compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) requirements.

Stakeholder and Team Management

  • Supervise and mentor a team of operations staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a high level of performance and adherence to operational standards.
  • Manage relationships with external service providers, vendors, and technology partners to ensure the smooth functioning of Insurance management operations.

  • Deciding on the procedures for client onboarding, including documentation requirements, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance.
  • Decisions related to the selection, maintenance, and upgrades of the technology and systems used in Insurance management, ensuring they meet regulatory and security standards.
  • Deciding on the strategies and resources required to ensure business continuity in case of disasters or disruptions.
  • Decisions regarding the handling and resolution of client complaints and escalations.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Graduate in Commerce/PG in Finance or Operations from reputed management schools would be preferred. Any certifications in Insurance  Operations would be an added advantage.
  • §  Experience: 12-15  years of experience in Insurance  management operations, with a strong understanding of financial products, investment strategies, and regulatory requirements in India.
