Role Type: Full-Time (On-Site)

Reporting To: Owner / Management

About the RoleShri Shyam PG & Mess is seeking a responsible, proactive, and people-friendly Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Girls’ PG & Mess. The ideal candidate should be disciplined, trustworthy, and capable of ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning, high guest satisfaction, and steady business growth.

Key Responsibilities


1. Daily Operations ManagementOversee day-to-day functioning of the PG and Mess.

  • Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and overall maintenance of rooms, common areas, kitchen, and facilities.
  • Supervise housekeeping, kitchen staff, helpers, and other workers.
  • Handle check-in/check-out, guest onboarding, and room allocation.


2. Rent Collection & Record KeepingCollect monthly rent and mess fees from all tenants on time.

  • Maintain digital/physical records of payments, outstanding amounts, and occupancy.
  • Provide daily/weekly financial reports to the management.


3. Food Supply & Mess ManagementEstimate daily/weekly food supply needs based on occupancy.

  • Coordinate with vendors for vegetables, groceries, milk, gas, and other essentials.
  • Ensure quality, taste, hygiene, and timely serving of meals.
  • Monitor wastage and optimize costs.


4. Maintenance & Facility UpkeepHandle regular maintenance: electrical, plumbing, repairing appliances, cleaning schedules, etc.

  • Maintain inventory of supplies (beds, mattresses, utensils, cleaning products, etc.).
  • Raise concerns to management if any major repair or upgrade is required.


5. Guest Relations & SafetyMaintain a positive and safe environment for all residents.

  • Address tenant complaints, conflicts, and requests promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to PG rules, safety protocols, and security procedures.
  • Keep all guests informed of important updates (festivals, repairs, dues, mess timings, etc.).


6. Growth & ExpansionIdentify new areas, buildings, or potential properties for opening new PGs.

  • Conduct local market research on pricing, competition, and occupancy trends.
  • Suggest marketing ideas to attract new tenants (online listings, referral offers, partnerships with colleges/coaching centers).
  • Work with management to expand the Shri Shyam PG brand.
  • Skills & RequirementsPrior experience in managing PG/hostels/hotels/mess preferred.
  • Strong communication and people-management skills.
  • Ability to handle accounts, rent collection, and basic reporting.
  • Good understanding of food planning and cost management.
  • Problem-solving attitude with patience and discipline.
  • Basic computer or smartphone knowledge (WhatsApp, Excel, digital payments).
  • Must be trustworthy, responsible, and comfortable working with girl residents.
