Process Engineer- Mechanical

Job Title: Mechanical Process Engineer – Automotive Locksets

Role Summary:

Responsible for developing, improving, and sustaining manufacturing processes for automotive locksets while ensuring high productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. The role involves supporting new product development, process validation, and managing fixtures and gauges used in production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for automotive locksets, including machining, assembly, die casting, and plastic moulded components.
• Prepare and maintain process documentation such as Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plans, SOPs, and Work Instructions.
• Support new product development and launches as part of cross-functional teams following APQP requirements.
• Analyze and improve cycle times, process capability (Cp/Cpk), productivity, and rejection levels.
• Design, develop, maintain, and control production fixtures and gauges to ensure process stability and product quality.
• Coordinate with tool room, production, and quality teams for fixture improvements, gauge calibration, and troubleshooting process issues.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, cost reduction) on the shop floor.
• Ensure adherence to IATF 16949 standards and automotive quality requirements.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

• 3–7 years of experience in automotive component manufacturing.
• Experience in automotive locksets, precision mechanical components, or similar assemblies preferred.
• Strong knowledge of APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, fixtures, gauges, and process validation.
• Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
