Project Engineer

The Project Engineer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing projects in the power distribution sector, including installation, commissioning, upgradation, and maintenance of distribution infrastructure. The role requires ensuring technical compliance, safety standards, timely delivery, and cost-effective execution of projects.

• Key Responsibilities:Assist in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation for power distribution projects (11kV, 33kV, LT lines, substations, underground cabling, etc.).
• Oversee installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical distribution equipment (transformers, switchgear, RMUs, control panels, etc.).
• Monitor project execution against timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, company policies, and safety norms.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth project progress.
• Prepare project documentation, technical reports, and progress updates.
• Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Support in procurement planning by providing technical inputs on materials and equipment.
• Identify risks, delays, and challenges in execution and suggest corrective actions.
• Provide support in customer/stakeholder interactions regarding project progress and handover.
• Qualifications & Skills:Education: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering (mandatory).

Experience: 2–5 years of experience in power distribution / electrical project execution. (Experience with TATA Power or BSES is highly preferred)

Technical Knowledge:

• Power distribution systems (11kV, 33kV, LT, HT).
• Transformers, switchgear, underground cabling, SCADA, metering systems.
• Safety standards, quality checks, and regulatory compliance.

Skills:

• Strong project management and site supervision skills.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Good communication and coordination abilities.
• Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, or project management tools (preferred).
