Job Description

Job Summary: The Relationship Officer is responsible for generating new business opportunities, maintaining strong client relationships, and achieving sales targets for insurance products. The role involves identifying customer needs, recommending suitable insurance solutions, and ensuring an excellent customer experience through proactive service and relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Business Development:

  • Promote and sell life, health, and general insurance products to existing and prospective clients.
  • Identify new leads and opportunities through cold calls, referrals, and market research.
  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets as assigned by the management.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients to encourage repeat and referral business.
  • Conduct regular follow-ups with customers for policy renewals, cross-selling, and upselling.
  • Provide post-sales support and address customer queries or issues promptly.

Coordination & Reporting:

  • Collaborate with internal teams (underwriting, claims, operations) to ensure smooth policy processing and service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions and sales activities in the CRM system.
  • Prepare and submit periodic sales and performance reports to management.

Market & Product Knowledge:

  • Stay updated on company products, industry trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes.
  • Educate clients on various insurance solutions suited to their financial needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in insurance sales, banking, or financial services (freshers with strong communication skills may also be considered).
  • Strong sales, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Good knowledge of insurance products and financial planning concepts.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.

  • Achievement of individual sales targets.
  • Client acquisition and retention rate.
  • Cross-sell and upsell ratio.
  • Customer satisfaction scores.
  • Policy renewal rate.
