Resident Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain SD-WAN and WAN/LAN network operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to SD-WAN, routing, VPN, and connectivity issues.
• Work on change implementation (configuration changes, policy updates, and firmware upgrades).
• Coordinate with OEM support (Cisco, Versa, Fortinet, Aruba, etc.) for issue resolution.
• Analyze network performance and proactively identify areas for improvement.
• Support WAN optimization and QoS configurations.
• Manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and SD-WAN edge devices.
• Maintain network documentation, incident reports, and change records.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for project deployment and migration activities.
• Follow ITIL-based incident, problem, and change management processes.

Technical Skills Required:

• Strong understanding of SD-WAN technologies (Cisco Viptela, Versa, Fortinet, Aruba, Silver Peak, or equivalent).
• Must be CCNP certified.
• Good knowledge of routing and switching protocols – BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, and STP.
• Experience with VPNs, IPsec, GRE tunnels, and MPLS.
• Familiarity with firewalls (Fortigate, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA).
• Experience using network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, NetFlow, etc.).
• Knowledge of QoS, NAT, ACLs, and policy-based routing.
• Hands-on experience with CLI and NMS platforms.
• Understanding of basic automation or scripting (Python, Ansible) – an added advantage.
