Job Description
Job Responsibilities – Sales Manager1. Sales Team Management & LeadershipLead, guide, and monitor the sales team to ensure targets are achieved. Assign responsibilities, review daily activities, track productivity, and maintain discipline and accountability across the team.
2. Sales Planning & Strategy DevelopmentDevelop and implement effective sales strategies aligned with company goals. Plan monthly and quarterly targets, improve conversion ratios, identify new business opportunities, and drive revenue growth.
3. Sales Reporting & MIS ManagementPrepare, analyze, and present daily, weekly, and monthly sales MIS reports. Track leads, orders, revenue, collections, and team performance. Ensure data accuracy and timely reporting to management.
4. Tour Planning & Field Activity ControlCreate structured tour plans and field schedules for sales executives to ensure proper market coverage. Monitor field visit reports, meeting outcomes, and follow-ups to maximize productivity.
5. Client & Customer HandlingHandle key clients and customers through calls, meetings, and follow-ups. Understand client requirements, maintain strong relationships, manage negotiations, and ensure long-term customer retention.
6. Lead Management & Follow-upsMonitor leads from all sources, assign them to the sales team, and track follow-ups and closures. Ensure response timelines are maintained and no sales opportunity is missed.
7. Customer Issue ResolutionResolve customer complaints related to pricing, delivery, quality, or payments. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure quick resolution and high customer satisfaction.
8. Cross-Department CoordinationCoordinate with marketing, accounts, production, and dispatch teams for smooth order processing, billing accuracy, timely dispatch, and campaign execution.
9. Market & Competitor AnalysisAnalyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitor activities. Share insights with management to support pricing strategies, product positioning, and sales planning.
10. Sales Team Training & Performance ImprovementTrain and mentor the sales team on product knowledge, communication skills, negotiation techniques, and closing strategies. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide improvement feedback.
11. Target Monitoring & Performance ReviewTrack sales performance against targets on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Identify gaps, implement corrective actions, and motivate the team to improve results.
12. Policy Compliance & Process ControlEnsure compliance with company sales policies, pricing structures, discount approvals, and credit norms. Maintain proper documentation and process discipline.
13. Sales Forecasting & Management SupportSupport management with accurate sales forecasts, demand planning inputs, and performance analysis using structured data and dashboards.
- Key Skills & Technical CompetenciesAdvanced Excel – MIS creation, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, IF formulas, dashboards, and data analysis.
- Google Sheets – Real-time reporting, formulas, data validation, sharing controls, and team collaboration.
- Dashboard & Reporting Tools – Sales dashboards for targets vs achievement, lead tracking, and performance monitoring.
- CRM & Lead Management Systems – Managing leads, follow-ups, customer data, and sales pipelines.
- Data Analysis & Forecasting – Ability to analyze sales data and support decision-making.
- Communication & Negotiation Skills – Strong verbal and written communication with clients and internal teams.
