Job Description

Sales Representative (General Trade – FMCG)

Position: Sales Representative (GT)

Reporting To: Sales Officer / Area Sales Manager

Location: Field Sales – Assigned Territory

Role ObjectiveTo drive secondary sales in General Trade by covering retail outlets, booking orders through the Field Assist app, ensuring product availability, expanding distribution, and maintaining strong product visibility in the assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities

1. Retail Coverage & Beat Management

  • Cover retail outlets daily as per the assigned beat plan.
  • Maintain knowledge of minimum 250 outlets within the territory.
  • Ensure regular outlet coverage and relationship building with retailers.

2. Order Booking

  • Book orders through Field Assist App during market visits.
  • Ensure correct order quantity and follow up for timely billing and dispatch from distributor.

3. Distribution & Supply

  • Ensure product availability at retail outlets.
  • Coordinate with distributor to ensure smooth supply and replenishment of stock.
  • Identify and develop new outlets to increase market reach.

4. Range Selling

  • Promote full product range to retailers.
  • Ensure multiple SKUs are placed in each outlet to increase offtake.

5. Product Placement & Visibility

  • Ensure proper shelf placement and visibility of products in stores.
  • Implement displays, shelf placement, and point-of-sale materials where possible.

6. Market Development

  • Identify new outlets and expand distribution network in the territory.
  • Strengthen presence in high-potential retail locations.

7. Sales Targets

  • Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
  • Focus on secondary sales growth and outlet activation.

8. Market Intelligence

  • Track competitor products, pricing, and schemes.
  • Share feedback on market trends and retailer demand.
