Job Description

  • Job Summary


  • We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Car Technician to lead and execute complex vehicle repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics.
  • This role requires a deep understanding of automotive systems, including engine, clutch, suspension, electrical, and braking systems.
  • The Senior Car Technician will supervise junior technicians, ensure adherence to quality standards, and play a key role in achieving customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

1. Advanced Maintenance and Repair

○ Perform complex repairs on machinery, equipment, and systems with

minimal supervision.

○ Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, identifying root

causes and implementing corrective actions.

○ Repair or replace faulty components, calibrate machinery, and ensure

repairs meet company standards.

2. Preventive Maintenance Programs

○ Lead and execute preventive maintenance tasks according to the

maintenance schedule.

○ Inspect, test, and service equipment to prevent unexpected breakdowns

and improve asset longevity.

○ Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance activities, including

findings and corrective measures taken.


3. Team Supervision and Mentorship

○ Train and mentor junior technicians, providing guidance and hands-on

support in maintenance tasks.

○ Conduct regular team meetings, share technical knowledge, and promote

best practices.

○ Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in assessing junior technicians’

performance and identifying skill development opportunities.


4. Safety Compliance

○ Ensure that all maintenance tasks comply with health, safety, and

environmental regulations.

○ Conduct safety checks on equipment, report any potential hazards, and

address safety issues promptly.

○ Lead by example in using PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and

following safety protocols, encouraging a safety-first culture.


5. Documentation and Reporting

○ Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, including

detailed descriptions of problems encountered, solutions applied, and

parts used.

○ Prepare and submit detailed maintenance reports to the Maintenance

Supervisor or Operations Manager.

○ Document preventive maintenance activities and ensure records are up-

to-date and accessible.


6. Inventory and Equipment Management

○ Monitor and manage inventory levels of spare parts, tools, and equipment


to ensure resources are available as needed.

○ Coordinate with suppliers for reordering and sourcing high-quality parts

and materials.

○ Ensure proper storage, usage, and maintenance of tools and equipment to

extend their lifespan.

7. Emergency Response

○ Respond promptly to emergency repair requests, minimizing downtime

and restoring equipment functionality.

○ Quickly diagnose and repair critical equipment failures, using expertise to

mitigate any operational disruptions.

○ Assist in creating emergency response protocols and ensure team

preparedness for urgent repair needs.


8. Continuous Improvement

○ Identify opportunities to enhance maintenance processes, repair methods,

and workflow efficiency.

○ Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean or Six

Sigma projects, to enhance operational efficiency.

○ Provide input on potential upgrades or replacements of outdated

equipment to improve reliability and reduce costs.


9. Collaboration with Other Departments

○ Work closely with operations, production, and quality control teams to

align maintenance activities with operational needs.

○ Communicate effectively with other departments regarding maintenance

schedules, repairs, and any impact on production.

○ Support cross-departmental initiatives aimed at improving equipment

reliability and production uptime.


Requirements

● Technical diploma or certification in a relevant field (e.g., mechanical, electrical,

HVAC, or industrial maintenance).

● 5+ years of experience in maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting, preferably in

a senior or lead technician role.

● Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or technical systems.

● Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, maintenance software, and standard repair

tools.

● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.


Additional Skills

● Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities for complex repairs and

troubleshooting.

● Leadership and mentoring skills to train and guide junior technicians.


● Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and equipment specifications.

● Knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) or

other maintenance management software.
