We are looking for a VPS Server Admin experienced in Linux-based hosting, web server management (Apache/Nginx), database security, and server hardening. The ideal candidate should be reliable, responsive, and capable of ensuring 99.9% uptime.

1. Operating System Proficiency

Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian) – Most common on VPS

Windows Server – If your stack requires IIS or ASP.NET

2. Web Server Configuration

Nginx or Apache – Install, configure, optimize

Load balancing, redirects, URL rewriting, SSL, caching

3. Database Management

MySQL / MariaDB / PostgreSQL

Database backups, optimization, and securing access

4. Security Skills

SSH key management, firewall configuration (ufw, iptables)

SSL certificate installation (Let’s Encrypt, custom)

Malware scanning and server hardening

Fail2ban, intrusion detection, brute force prevention

5. Backup & Recovery

Setting up automated backups

Database dumps, file system snapshots

Disaster recovery strategy

6. DNS and Email Configuration

Managing DNS records (A, CNAME, MX, TXT)

Email server setup (Postfix, Exim) or third-party (SendGrid, Google)

7. Monitoring & Logs

Use tools like UptimeRobot, Zabbix, Nagios, or Grafana

Read logs (/var/log, Apache/Nginx logs) to diagnose issues

💻 DevOps & Automation (Preferred Skills)

Experience with CI/CD pipelines

Familiarity with Git and version control

Knowledge of Docker, Ansible, or Terraform (nice to have)

Scripting: Bash, Python, or PowerShell
