Accountant

Position Overview

The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This role supports management by providing reliable financial information for decision-making.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain and update general ledger accounts in accordance with accounting principles
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Perform bank and account reconciliations
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation
• Monitor financial transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Maintain proper financial records and internal controls

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Proven experience in an accounting role
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting practices
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA
• Experience with financial analysis and reporting
