Assitere has an immediate opening for a Design Engineer. The Engineer should have a proven track record for approx. 3-4 years in the manufacturing field; ideally in brass items, decorative hardware (knobs, levers, etc.) or automotive components along with export to USA.

Working knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc. is required. He / she should be able to perform the following duties.

1) Design / Draft in SolidWorks / AutoCAD or other software

2) Have basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat and able to create cut sheets and templates.

3) Have clear understanding of the requirements of the customer

4) Check existing drawings

5) Work alongside with machinists and understand efficient methods of working on VMC, CNC, Manual Lathe, etc.

6) Catalog all parts thoroughly along with drawings, cut sheets etc.

7) Provide support to shop / graphic design as per their requirements.

8) Suggest changes and improvements in design to make manufacturing more cost effective

9) Have a keen eye and attention to detail for all manufacturing drawings.

10) Should know how to create a BOM (Bill of Material) and update as per the library of parts created.

11) Create a library of commonly used parts and as much as possible, keep parts common between products.

12) Be able to communicate with designers outside the office in New York and within India.

13) Check supplier drawings as required.
