Job Description Summary
The SAP ABAP Senior Associate will play a key role in the SAP delivery center, contributing to the design, development, and delivery of SAP solutions across ECC and S/4HANA environments. This role requires strong hands-on technical expertise, the ability to work independently on complex development tasks, and collaboration with functional and technical teams. The Senior Associate will also mentor junior associates, ensure adherence to coding standards, and support performance optimization initiatives.
Responsibilities
RICEF Development & Delivery Design, develop, and maintain RICEF objects including Reports (ALV/Classical), Interfaces (ALE/IDoc, BAPI), Conversions (LSMW/BDC), Enhancements (User Exits, BADI, Enhancement Spots, BTE), RAP and Forms (SAPScript, Smartforms, Adobe Forms). Deliver ABAP objects independently and ensure quality through peer reviews. Advanced ABAP & Object-Oriented Programming Work with Object-Oriented ABAP, Workflow, Data Dictionary objects, and Search Helps to build scalable solutions. Apply modular and reusable coding practices for maintainability. Niche Technology Expertise Contribute to projects using at least one specialized ABAP technology such as Web Dynpro, Workflow, OData services, SAP-BTP, SAP-CPI/PO, SAP FIori, SF-HRABAP. Support integration scenarios leveraging these niche skills. SAP HANA & Modern ABAP Exposure Gain hands-on experience with CDS Views and AMDPs for optimized data modeling and performance. Collaborate on UI5/Fiori-related developments and extensions. Business Requirement Mapping Translate client business requirements into technical specifications and develop necessary modifications to meet objectives. Work closely with functional consultants to understand business processes from a customer perspective. Collaboration & Teamwork Participate actively in team discussions, contributing technical insights and solutions. Support cross-functional collaboration, ensuring smooth interaction with functional and technical teams. Quality Assurance & Standards Perform peer reviews of ABAP code to ensure adherence to SAP best practices. Contribute to maintaining clean core principles in S/4HANA environments.
Required Qualifications and Skills Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Technical Skills: 4–7 years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development. Strong knowledge of classical ABAP programming (reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms, workflows). Practical exposure to modern ABAP for HANA concepts (CDS views, AMDP, OData services, RAP), SAP-BTP, SAP Fiori, SAP CPI/PO, SF-HR-ABAP. Experience with integration technologies (BAPIs, IDocs, RFC, Web Services). Familiarity with performance analysis and tuning tools (ST05, ST12, SCI). Basic understanding of Fiori/UI5 integration and deployment. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication skills for working with cross-functional teams. Ability to mentor junior team members and manage multiple priorities. Preferred Certifications: SAP ABAP certification or training in S/4HANA development is advantageous. Working Conditions This role is based in an SAP delivery center office environment. Senior Associates may need to coordinate with global teams across different time zones and should be proactive in taking ownership of technical tasks while supporting team collaboration.
