Legal Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Associate with a strong foundation in Corporate Law, a solid understanding of International Legal Frameworks, and relevant exposure to the Telecom and SMS industry. The ideal candidate will provide legal support across corporate transactions, regulatory compliance, cross-border operations, and industry-specific legal matters.

• Key Responsibilities:Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial and corporate agreements including NDAs, MSAs, SLAs, JV agreements, shareholder agreements, and investment contracts.
• Advise on corporate structuring, M&A, compliance, and governance matters for both local and international operations.
• Provide legal counsel on matters relating to international business law, including cross-border transactions, foreign investments, and trade compliance.
• Ensure compliance with local and international regulatory bodies and telecom authorities.
• Manage legal risk exposure in the telecom/SMS industry, including issues related to message routing, content compliance, data privacy, and carrier agreements.
• Stay abreast of legal and regulatory changes in the global telecom and messaging ecosystem (including GDPR, DPA, anti-spam regulations, etc.).
• Work closely with internal teams (sales, finance, product, and compliance) to support business objectives while mitigating legal risks.
• Liaise with external counsel and regulatory bodies as needed.
• Assist in managing disputes, litigation, or arbitration when necessary.
• Key Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) is mandatory; Master’s degree or specialization in Corporate Law or International Law is preferred.
• 5 to 10 years of post-qualification experience in a legal role, with demonstrated expertise in corporate legal advisory.
• Experience in international transactions and knowledge of global legal frameworks.
• Exposure to or legal advisory experience in the telecom/SMS, VASP, or technology-driven communication sectors.
• Strong understanding of data protection, consumer laws, telecom regulations, and cross-border communication laws.
• Excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Nice to Have:Prior in-house counsel experience in a telecom or tech company.
• Familiarity with messaging platforms, aggregators, or mobile network operators.
• Certifications or short courses in International Business Law or Telecom Law.
