Logistics Supervisor

Job Summary:

Manage warehouse operations, logistics, and supply chain to ensure efficient receiving, storage, shipping, and delivery of products. Lead a team to meet productivity, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Warehouse Operations:

  - Oversee receiving, put away, picking, packing, and shipping.

  - Manage inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and stock levels.

  - Optimize warehouse layout and processes.

- Logistics and Shipping:

  - Coordinate with carriers, vendors, and customers.

  - Manage shipping costs, rates, and performance.

  - Ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment.

- Returns Management:

  - Process and manage returns efficiently.

  - Inspect returned items and route for restocking, repair, or disposal.

  - Track return reasons and identify trends.

- Team Management:

  - Lead and train warehouse and logistics staff.

  - Set performance goals and provide feedback.

  - Ensure safety and compliance.

- Reporting and Analysis:

  - Provide daily/weekly/monthly reports on key metrics (see below).

  - Analyse data to identify areas for improvement.

Key Metrics:

- Warehouse:

  - Inventory accuracy: 99%+

  - Order fulfilment rate: 98%+

  - Shipping accuracy: 99%+

- Logistics:

  - On-time delivery rate: 95%+

  - Shipping cost per order: ₹50-₹100

  - Carrier performance (SLA adherence)

- Returns:

  - Return processing time: < 48 hours

  - Return rate: < 5%

- Productivity:

  - Orders processed per hour per staff: 10-15

  - Inventory turns: 4-6 per year

Requirements:

- 5+ years of warehouse and logistics management experience.

- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

- Experience with inventory management software, WMS, and logistics systems.

- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

- Experience with ecommerce logistics and international shipping.

- Knowledge of lean/six sigma methodologies.
