Inventory Planning Analyst

Job Description:

Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Aftersales Parts & Accessories Inventory Planning & Forecasting process.

Spare Parts Operations:  Monitor, review and optimize the inbound supply of material from Suppliers (Local and Overseas) to support inventory targets and customer service level KPI’s and objectives.

Ensure accuracy of parts data setup; inventory parameters settings in Enterprise SAP and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and timely updated at the right time.

Perform critical analysis to achieve Inventory Optimization to reduce Inventory Excess & Obsolescence.  Close monitoring the customers' demand fluctuations and adjust forecasts.  Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders regardless cross functional or borders to monitor, expedite and optimize the inbound material arrivals to meet continuous supply of service parts to fulfill the customer demands.

Tasks & Responsibilities: 

  • A technical expert in area of responsibility and can ensure operations requirements are understood and met by key business partners, team members and stakeholders.   
  • Lead problem resolution for various backend processes for Operations relating to Aftersales Service Parts Forecasting, Planning and participate in system tool developments.
  • Timely performance tracking and development of data analytics.
  • Analyze and Interpret data for reporting requirements, identify gaps in the process and provide achievable and sustainable solutions.
  • Understand local and business trends, environment changes that impact inventory forecasting and planning operations, including peaks and valleys in the parts demand history.
  • Interact and assist internal and external stakeholders in various requests within scope of work, including audits on the correctness and accuracy in reporting their performance metrics in compliance to CCA Supply Chain Global Metrics Definition.
  • Meet agreed upon SLAs/KPIs and serve as key contact for escalation and resolution in relation to performance of the team.
  • Has strong control focus to identifies and drives resolutions to issues (operations deficiency, suppliers’ delivery performance, accuracy in master data maintenance, etc.) within their respective area.
  • Identify, lead, and implement process improvements to drive quality in performance review and compliance within their respective area.
  • Collaborate and versatile working with work group to accomplish objectives and actively participates new initiative or project.
  • Meticulous with details, analyze and raise alert to the stakeholders.
  • Innovate for continuous improvements and improve process efficiency with high visibility.
  • Report and support investigation on system bugs or data discrepancies with IT Support.
  • Identify supply shortages and support critical expedition for stock supply to fulfill customer requirements within the shortest time.
  • Parts supersession management ensure demand transfer from predecessors to successors appropriately.
  • Ensure timely delivery outlook updated to aid stock planning and expedition.
  • Countercheck regular orders replenishments are transmitted (EDI) to suppliers.
  • Reconcile open orders with suppliers to ensure accuracy of records that are critical for stock planning accuracy.
  • Manage pre-month end process to ensure inventory planning parameters are refreshed and updated.
  • Review forecast exceptions after month end batch process to adjust forecasts appropriately.
  • Ensure Supplier’s Advanced Shipping Notice are timely maintained in system for accurate Materials In-transit status.
  • Ensures compliance with GM Corporate policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Support ad-hoc requirements as appropriate.  

Qualifications: 

Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science Graduate in Engineering/Supply Chain/Business Management
  • Preferably minimum 3 years working experience in Supply Chain Operations
  • Experience working in a multinational organization and with colleagues internationally.
  • Advanced domain knowledge of Materials operations related processes (Supply Chain, Order Management and Inventory Forecasting & Planning in Automotive Spare Parts for Aftersales)
  • Technical Knowledge Requirements:
  • Adeptness and proficiency to understand, interpret and compare relationships between Actuals, and Forecasts
  • Advanced Supply Chain, Order Management and Warehouse Operation understanding.
  • Basic Automotive industry knowledge
  • Working knowledge of Enterprise SAP System - MM; CRM, EWM are essentials.
  • Advanced MS Excel, Access and Databases skills are plus.
  • Knowledge in reading SQL program logic in databases and used of Data Analytics Tools are plus.
  • Understand Service Parts Engineering Changes, Replacements impacting in inventory planning.
