Solar Energy Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Installation: Assemble and mount solar panels, microinverters, and structural racking on rooftops or ground mounts.
• Electrical Work: Wire electrical components, including grounding and connecting to building electrical systems or batteries.
• Planning & Prep: Review structural blueprints, site plans, and electrical layouts to determine the best installation path.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all local building codes, electrical codes (e.g., NEC), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.
• Testing & Maintenance: Test systems for voltage/current issues and perform routine maintenance. Go Construct +6

Qualifications

• Experience: Previous experience in construction, electrical work, or roofing is preferred.
• Knowledge: Understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and solar technologies.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to read blueprints, and mechanical aptitude.
• Physical Ability: Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50+ lbs), work at heights, and work in varied weather conditions.
• Certifications: Often requires valid driver’s license and sometimes specialized solar training or electrician licenses. Go Construct +4
