About the role

Your Mission

 

As a Staff Software Engineer - Agentic Development, your mission is to lead the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge AI-driven agentic applications, leveraging Python, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) serverless technologies, and advanced frameworks like LangChain and Model Context Protocol (MCP) to solve complex customer challenges .

This role offers a unique opportunity to gain broad experience solving complex challenges and developing scalable solutions in a dynamic, service-oriented environment.

 

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to projects at all stages from early discovery and architecture to full end-to-end application development and technical consulting for customers

• Effectively manage your time across 1–2 concurrent projects, working within teams that vary in size and scope

• Work closely with solution architects, project managers, and engineers to define and deliver high-quality user experiences

• Architect and implement production-grade agentic applications using LangChain, MCP, and other orchestration frameworks

• Design and deploy RAG systems that combine enterprise data sources with large language models

• Build custom tools, function calling interfaces, and agent workflows tailored to client business processes

• Develop Model Context Protocol servers and integrations for seamless AI-to-system communication

Expectations

 

Required Travel - Limited (<5%) travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events. 

 

Customer Facing - You will interact with customers regularly, sometimes daily, other times weekly/bi-weekly. Common touchpoints occur when qualifying potential opportunities, at project kickoff, throughout the engagement as progress is communicated, and at project close. You can expect to interact with a range of customer stakeholders, including engineers, technical project managers, and executives.

 

Onboarding/Training - The first several weeks of onboarding are dedicated to learning and will encompass learning materials/assignments and compliance training, as well as meetings with relevant individuals. Details of the timeline are shared closer to the start date. 

 

Job Requirements

 

Required Credentials:

• 10+ years of relevant work experience in software development more focused on backend development.

• 2–3 years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and deploying AI-driven agentic applications and systems.

 

Required Qualifications: 

 

• AI/ML Frameworks & Agentic Development

• LangChain and related orchestration frameworks for building agentic systems

• Model Context Protocol (MCP) development and integration

• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture design and implementation

• Vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma, or Vertex AI Vector Search)

• Prompt engineering, function calling, and agent workflow design

• Proficiency in Python (primary) with strong software engineering practices. Exposure to either Golang or Nodejs is also required. 

• Cloud Native Backend Development - Expert-level proficiency in designing scalable, serverless microservices using Google Cloud Run and Cloud Functions. 

• Experience designing and building production APIs with proper contracts, error handling, and documentation (RESTful API and gRPC service development)

• Experience with TypeScript/JavaScript for full-stack or integration work

• Strong architectural thinking - ability to evaluate trade-offs, identify bottlenecks, and design for scale

• Experience writing comprehensive automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end)

• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders, from engineers to executives

• Debugging and problem-solving skills for complex, distributed systems

 

Useful Qualifications:

• Experience tuning applications for non-functional requirements, i.e., usability, maintainability, scalability, availability, security, portability, etc. 

• Experience using Google Cloud Platform, in particular serverless (Cloud Functions), containers (Cloud Run, Kubernetes), and platforms (App Engine)

• Experience interfacing with Architects, Product Management to design and implement solutions

• Experience working with and diagnosing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub actions, Bamboo, Jenkins, Harness, or GCP Cloud Build)

• Familiarity with frontend web technologies, particularly React and Angular

• Containerization with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes

• A degree in computer science or a related field is preferred
