  • Core ResponsibilitiesCurriculum & Lesson Planning:
  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate, engaging, and creative lessons based on Early Childhood Education principles and the organization's child-centric philosophy.
  • Incorporate play-based learning strategies, storytelling, music, art, and movement to promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Introduce foundational concepts in reading, writing, and counting through interactive activities.
  • Classroom Management:
  • Create a safe, clean, and stimulating learning environment that encourages exploration and discovery.
  • Maintain classroom discipline using positive and developmentally appropriate methods.
  • Manage resources and learning materials effectively.
  • Child Development & Assessment:
  • Observe and monitor children's development against established milestones.
  • Identify the unique needs of individual children and provide extra support or intervention where required, focusing on conceptual learning over rote memorization.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of each child's progress.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Maintain open and regular communication with parents/caregivers, particularly as many are first-generation learners, to update them on their child's progress and foster sustained parental involvement.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, mentors, and volunteers to ensure holistic child development.
  • Required Qualifications & SkillsEducational Qualification:
  • Nursery Teacher Training (NTT) Certification or a degree/diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECCE) or a related field is typically required and highly preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree (Graduate) is often a minimum educational requirement.
  • Experience & Attributes:
  • Proven experience working with young children (aged 3–5). Experience in the NGO/development sector or with children from low-income families is a strong preference.
  • Strong understanding of child development and psychology.
  • Fluency in English and Hindi (written and verbal).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated qualities of patience, creativity, integrity, and maturity.
  • Ability and willingness to work hands-on directly with children and their families within the community.
