Trademark Advocate

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Advocate specializing in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) with a primary focus on trademarks and copyrights. The ideal candidate will handle various IPR-related matters, including trademark hearings, drafting and responding to objections, oppositions, and representing clients in hearings before the appropriate authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in trademark and copyright hearings before the relevant authorities
• Draft and file responses to trademark objections, oppositions, and office actions.
• Prepare and manage opposition and rectification petitions for trademarks.
• Conduct thorough legal research and provide advice on copyright and trademark matters.
• Draft, review, and file various legal documents, including trademark applications, agreements, and notices.
• Maintain regular communication with clients to update them on case progress and provide strategic advice.
• Coordinate with government offices, registrars, and examiners regarding trademark and copyright matters.
• Stay updated on the latest legal developments in the IPR field to provide sound legal counsel.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Educational Qualification: LL.B. or LLM degree from a recognized university; enrollment with the Bar Council is mandatory.
• Experience: Experience in handling IPR matters, particularly trademarks and copyrights.
• In-depth knowledge of trademark and copyright laws, including relevant rules and procedures.
• Strong drafting skills with experience in preparing objection replies, oppositions, and petitions.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for client interactions and court appearances.
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional certification or coursework in Intellectual Property Rights.
• Experience in handling trademark portfolio management and international filings.
