Job Summary:

A skilled Electrical Technician with a valid CompEx certification responsible for installation, maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting of electrical systems in hazardous areas within oil & gas facilities, ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment in hazardous (Ex) environments.

Ensure all work complies with CompEx standards and hazardous area classifications.

Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance of electrical systems.

Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in motors, control panels, switchgear, and instrumentation systems.

Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.

Carry out cable glanding, termination, and earthing as per industry standards.

Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) policies and permit-to-work systems

Support commissioning and shutdown activities.

Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.

Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and other technicians on site activities.

Required Qualifications:

Diploma / ITI in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Valid CompEx Certification (Ex01–Ex04 or equivalent).

Minimum 3–5 years of experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, or similar industries.

Strong knowledge of hazardous area equipment and safety practices.

Key Skills:

Hazardous area electrical maintenance

Fault finding & troubleshooting

Knowledge of ATEX / IECEx standards

Cable installation and termination

Preventive maintenance practices

Safety compliance and risk awareness

Preferred:

Experience in offshore / refinery / petrochemical plants

Additional safety certifications (e.g., H2S, Permit to Work)
