Job Description:

Electrical Engineer (Oil & Gas Industry | 4–8 Years Experience)Position OverviewWe are looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer with 4–8 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of electrical design, engineering standards, maintenance, commissioning, and safety practices related to upstream, midstream, or downstream operations.

B.E / B Tech Degree in Electrical /Electronic Engineering with 4 years inline experience / Diploma in Electrical /Electronic Engineering with minimum 8 years inline experience and shall have valid supervisory license holder /equivalent License or certificate issued by Government authority as per CEA regulations

• Key Responsibilities Perform electrical design, calculations, and engineering activities for Oil & Gas projects (FEED, EPC, brownfield/greenfield).
• Prepare and review single-line diagrams (SLD), load calculations, cable schedules, lighting layouts, and equipment specifications.
• Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, NEC, and Oil & Gas industry standards.
• Evaluate and specify electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, generators, motors, and protection systems.
• Support installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems on-site.
• Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, and electrical safety reviews.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, instrumentation, and civil teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Review vendor documents, design deliverables, and technical drawings.
• Participate in FAT, SAT, and site inspections.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and ensure minimal downtime during operations.
• Ensure compliance with HSE standards and support safety audits and inspections.
• Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 4–8 years of experience in Oil & Gas (Upstream / Midstream / Downstream).
• Strong knowledge of explosion-proof equipment, hazardous area classification (ATEX/IECEx), and electrical safety practices.
• Experience with ETAP, AutoCAD, or similar engineering tools.
• Sound understanding of power distribution, grounding, lighting, motor control, and protection systems.
• Experience in EPC projects, field engineering, or construction support.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and vendor documents.
• Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
• Preferred Skills (Good to Have)Experience with DCS/PLC/motor control systems.
• Knowledge of IEC 60079, NEC Class/Division classification.
• Familiarity with offshore platforms, refineries, or pipeline projects.
• Exposure to brownfield modification projects and shutdown/turnaround activities.
• Certification in Electrical Safety, HAZOP/HAZID, or equivalent.

Key Area :

The shift engineer-Electrical shall be having in line experience of working in a large oil & gas / petrochemical complex in round the clock electrical substation operations. They shall also be capable carrying out trouble shooting and equipment’s working knowledge of Numerical relays, operations with HT/ LT, UPS, VFD, Battery chargers etc. and their drawings. They shall be capable of providing guidance to the technicians

in the shift and supervise all the operations with safety.
