Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Monitoring and Assessment:
- Continuously monitor patient vital signs, using equipment like multipara monitors, ventilators, and defibrillators.
- Analyze and interpret data from monitoring equipment and diagnostic tests to assess the patient's condition.
- Observe changes in a patient's condition and report them immediately to the medical team.
- Medical Interventions:
- Administer complex medications, including life-saving drugs, requiring precise dosing and timing.
- Perform procedures such as IV cannulation, urinary catheterization, Ryle's tube insertion, and blood sampling.
- Manage advanced life support equipment, such as ventilators and dialysis machines.
- Patient Care and Support:
- Provide post-operative and pre-operative care to surgical patients.
- Manage pain, nutrition, and fluid balance for critical patients.
- Offer emotional support and counseling to patients and their families, explaining complex medical information.
- Team Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with doctors, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Communicate patient status updates and receive orders from physicians.
- Document patient history, treatment plans, and care notes accurately and comprehensively.
- Emergency Response:
- Respond quickly and effectively to medical emergencies, such as a patient's heart stopping or breathing ceasing.
- Coordinate resuscitation efforts and implement interventions to save the patient's life.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Technical Skills:Proficiency in operating high-tech medical equipment, handling invasive lines, and understanding pharmacological principles.
- Critical Thinking:Ability to analyze information, make real-time decisions, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication Skills:Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
