  1. Responsibilities of Lab Incharge

Overseeing the testing, quality control, and R&D support for lighting fixtures and components.

Ensure products meet photometric, electrical, thermal, and safety standards (BIS) before reaching the market.

Conducting, supervising, and analyzing tests for light output (lumens), efficacy, color rendering index (CRI), color temperature (CCT), and beam angle using equipment.

Verifying electrical performance, driver efficiency, and thermal management (heat dissipation) of LED fixtures.

Leading technical evaluations of new, existing, and competitive products to identify improvements.

Ensuring all lab equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and operational to avoid measurement errors.

Developing and enforcing safety protocols, including handling electrical hazards, high-temperature equipment, and ensuring a clean work environment.

Managing inventory of raw materials, prototypes, and consumables, and coordinating with procurement for new equipment.

Preparing detailed technical reports, maintaining test logs, and updating records of all experiments and measurements.

Analyzing test data to determine compliance or identify failures, and communicating findings to engineering, R&D, and QA teams.

Writing and enforcing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for lab tests.

Managing technicians and staff, including training on equipment usage and safety standards.

Supporting R&D and QA teams during prototyping and production to resolve performance or reliability issues.

Assisting with technical aspects of vendor management for components.

Experience: 3–5+ years in LED lighting, photometry, or electronic testing.

Familiarity with lighting industry regulatory standards.



2. Responsibility of SMT Incharge

Developing and managing daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules, including line scheduling to meet targets.

Monitoring Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to increase machine utilization and availability.

Analyzing setup time, and machine cycle times to improve productivity.

Expert-level knowledge in operating, programming, and troubleshooting high-speed placement machines (e.g., ETON, JUKI).

Ensuring accurate mounting of LED on PCBs, focusing on precise solder paste printing and reflow profiles to minimize voiding.

Implementing LEAN, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies to reduce defects and improve yield.

Analyzing SMT defects (e.g., component droppage, tombstoning, misalignments) and implementing corrective actions.

Training, mentoring, and developing SMT technicians and operators.

Overseeing the maintenance schedule for pick-and-place machines, printers, and reflow ovens to minimize downtime.

Maintaining a clean and organized shop floor, especially focusing on electrostatic discharge (ESD) control.

5–8 years in SMT production, with 2–3 years in a managerial or supervisory 


3 . Manual Insertion (MI) Department Supervisor Responsibilities

Manually placing various electronic components (resistors, capacitors, LEDs, transformers) into designated holes on the PCB according to technical specifications.

Soldering components using hand tools, including soldering irons, while managing temperature to prevent damage to the board.

Trimming excess leads on the underside of the PCB to ensure proper clearance and connection.

Verifying component polarity, orientation, and alignment. Technicians must check for soldering defects (e.g., bridges, cold joints) and ensure assembly standards.

Ensuring proper Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) precautions are taken to protect sensitive electronic components.

Assisting with, or conducting, initial functional testing of the assembled luminary.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOM).

High level of skill in hand-soldering and handling small components.

Ability to maintain high precision to avoid rework.

Ability to work for long hours in sitting or standing positions.
