Job Title: Collating Machine Operator

Job Summary :

The Collating Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining collating machines used for assembling printed materials into predefined sequences. This role ensures timely and accurate production while maintaining high-quality output and minimizing downtime.

Key Responsibilities :

• Operate and monitor collating machines to ensure smooth production and alignment of printed materials.
• Set up machines based on job specifications including paper size, sequence order, speed, and layout.
• Detect and resolve machine jams, alignment issues, or technical errors during operation.
• Perform routine maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.
• Ensure proper loading of papers, inserts, booklets, covers, or other print materials.
• Inspect output regularly to verify sequence, quality, accuracy, and completeness.
• Follow production schedules and complete assigned jobs within timelines.
• Maintain records of production output, machine settings, and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with supervisors and production staff to meet quality standards.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain cleanliness around the machine and work area.

Skills & Qualifications :

• Minimum 1–3 years of experience operating collating or similar printing machinery (preferred).
• Basic mechanical understanding and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of print finishing processes such as folding, stitching, or binding (an advantage).
• Ability to read and understand job sheets and technical instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and quality control mindset.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Physically able to stand, lift, bend, and operate machinery for extended periods.

Education Requirement :

• High School Diploma / ITI / Technical certification in printing, mechanical trade, or related field preferred.

Work Environment :

• Factory-based role with rotating shifts (if applicable).
• Requires use of safety gear and adherence to occupational safety standards.
