MEP Manager

An MEP Manager handling fire fighting and plumbing is mainly responsible for design coordination, execution, quality, safety, and timely completion of these services on the project.

• Key responsibilitiesReview and understand all fire fighting and plumbing drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, and design intent, and raise RFIs for discrepancies.
• Plan and schedule execution of piping, pumps, valves, sprinklers, hydrants, tanks, shafts, drainage and water supply lines, in coordination with civil, structural and finishing works.
• Coordinate with consultants, architects, PMC and clients for approvals, design changes, and resolving site issues related to fire fighting and plumbing.
• Manage subcontractors and site teams, including manpower planning, daily work allocation, productivity monitoring, and progress reporting.
• Ensure work is executed as per applicable codes and standards (NBC, NFPA, local fire norms, IS codes, plumbing codes) and project specifications.
• Oversee material planning, procurement follow-up, verification of quantities, and proper storage and handling of pipes, fittings, pumps, panels and accessories.
• Monitor quality of installation (pipe routing, supports, testing, flushing, pressure testing, leakage checks, slope, trap details) and close NCRs/snags.
• Lead testing and commissioning of fire pumps, hydrant and sprinkler systems, wet risers, yard hydrants, plumbing lines, and coordinate with authorities for statutory inspections.
• Implement and monitor safety measures during hot work, working at height, confined space, and pressure testing for fire fighting and plumbing works.
• Maintain proper documentation: method statements, ITPs, test reports, checklists, as-built drawings, O&M manuals and handover documents for these services.
