Electrical Technician

A smart meter installer is responsible for installing, maintaining, and testing smart utility meters, which involves handling both the technical installation and customer interaction. Key duties include performing physical installations on customer premises or poles, conducting system testing, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. This role also requires managing documentation, maintaining an inventory of parts, and liaising with customers and clients to ensure smooth project execution and data accuracy. Responsibilities

• Installation and maintenance: Physically install smart meters, perform necessary repairs, and conduct gateway installations as required by project specifications. 
• Technical and system management: Test meters, diagnose and resolve technical issues, and maintain an inventory of equipment. 
• Customer and client relations: Interact with customers to address concerns and perform installations on their premises. Liaise with clients, such as DISCOMs, to ensure smooth operations and handle any issues. 
• Safety and compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), following safety talks, and obtaining necessary permits to work. 
• Documentation and reporting: Maintain accurate records of installations, activities, and data. Handle consumer indexing and ensure all documentation is complete. 
• Problem-solving: Investigate and resolve problems related to site operations and meter performance.
