Position OverviewWe are seeking two Safety Officers committed to creating a zero-incident workplace culture across our construction sites. This role demands a proactive professional who can implement comprehensive safety management systems, conduct regular safety audits, and ensure the wellbeing of all workers on NGO-funded healthcare and institutional projects.

Key ResponsibilitiesSafety Management System

●    Develop and implement site-specific safety plans aligned with Indian safety regulations and international best practices.

●    Establish safety protocols for high-risk activities including working at heights, excavation, and MEP installations.

●    Maintain safety management systems compliant with ISO 45001 standards.

Risk Assessment & Hazard Control

●    Conduct regular site safety inspections and hazard identification surveys.

●    Perform job safety analysis (JSA) and toolbox talks before high-risk operations.

●    Implement control measures for identified hazards and monitor effectiveness.

Training & Awareness

●    Conduct safety induction programs for all site personnel, contractors, and visitors.

●    Organize regular safety training on PPE usage, fire safety, first aid, and emergency response.

●    Foster a safety-first culture through awareness campaigns and behavioral safety programs.

Compliance & Reporting

●    Ensure compliance with Building and Other Construction Workers Act, Factory Act provisions, and environmental regulations.

●    Investigate accidents and near-misses, prepare detailed incident reports, and implement corrective actions.

●    Maintain safety records, registers, and documentation for regulatory inspections and donor audits.

Emergency Preparedness

●    Develop emergency response plans including evacuation procedures and medical emergency protocols.

●    Coordinate with local authorities, medical facilities, and fire services.

●    Conduct regular fire drills and emergency mock exercises.

Candidate ProfileMust-Have

●    Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Engineering, or related field.

●    5+ years of safety management experience in construction projects.

●    Valid safety officer license/certification as per local regulations.

●    Strong knowledge of Indian safety acts, labor laws, and construction safety standards.

●    Proficiency in English and Hindi; ability to communicate with diverse workforce.

Nice-to-Have

●    NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or IOSH certification.

●    ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification.

●    Experience in healthcare infrastructure or institutional projects.

●    First aid and fire safety certifications.
