Job Description
Job Responsibilities: Sales Engineer - Industrial Generators (Bihar, India)
Objective:
To achieve sales targets and expand the market share of industrial generators within the state of Bihar, India, by effectively engaging with potential and existing customers, understanding their power needs, and providing tailored solutions. This position offers an industry-standard salary plus attractive incentives based on performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales and Business Development:
Identify and generate new sales opportunities: Proactively research and identify potential customers for industrial generators across various sectors in Bihar (e.g., manufacturing, construction, infrastructure, hospitals, commercial establishments, government projects).
Lead Generation and Qualification: Develop and execute strategies for lead generation through market research, cold calling, networking, attending industry events, and leveraging online resources. Qualify leads based on their needs, budget, and timelines.
Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers, including engineers, procurement managers, and business owners. Act as the primary point of contact for clients.
Sales Presentations and Product Demonstrations: Conduct compelling sales presentations and product demonstrations to showcase our industrial generators' features, benefits, and value proposition. Tailor presentations to specific customer needs.
Proposal Development and Negotiation: Prepare and present competitive technical and commercial proposals. Effectively negotiate terms and conditions to close sales deals while ensuring profitability.
Achieve Sales Targets: Meet and exceed assigned sales targets and contribute to the organization's overall sales growth in the Bihar region.
Market Analysis and Reporting: Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs in Bihar. Provide regular sales reports, forecasts, and market insights to the management team.
Channel Partner Management (if applicable): Develop and manage relationships with channel partners, dealers, or distributors in Bihar to expand market reach and sales.
2. Technical Expertise and Customer Support:
Understand Customer Power Requirements: Conduct thorough site assessments and technical evaluations to understand customers' power needs, load calculations, and specific application requirements.
Provide Technical Solutions: Recommend the most suitable industrial generator models, configurations, and accessories based on customer needs and technical specifications.
Technical Support and Consultation: Provide pre-sales technical support and consultation to customers, addressing their queries and concerns effectively.
Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with engineering, product management, and after-sales service teams to ensure seamless customer experience and project execution.
Product Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of our industrial generator products, their technical specifications, applications, and competitive landscape.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Assist customers with basic technical troubleshooting and escalate complex issues to the service team as needed.
3. Operational and Administrative Tasks:
Sales Planning and Strategy: Contribute to the development and implementation of sales strategies specific to the Bihar market.
Sales Documentation: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, proposals, contracts, and sales orders.
Travel within Bihar: Be willing to travel extensively within the state of Bihar to meet with clients and pursue sales opportunities.
Compliance and Documentation: Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and ethical sales practices.
Participation in Training and Development: Continuously update product knowledge and sales skills through participation in training programs.
Qualifications:
· Education:
o Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
o A Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field is a plus.
· Experience:
o Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in technical sales or sales engineering, preferably in the industrial equipment or power generation sector.
o Proven track record of achieving sales targets and developing new business.
· Technical Skills:
o Strong technical aptitude and understanding of industrial generators, power systems, and related electrical/mechanical concepts.
· Other Skills:
o Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
o Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
o Ability to understand customer needs and provide tailored solutions.
o Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
o Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
o Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
o Fluency in Hindi and English is essential. Knowledge of local Bihari dialects would be an advantage.
o Willingness to travel extensively within Bihar.
