Job Description

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth within a designated geographic region by managing sales teams, developing strategic plans, and building strong relationships with clients and distributors. The role focuses on achieving sales targets, expanding market presence, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

  • Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve company targets within the assigned area
  • Manage, train, and motivate the sales team to maximize performance
  • Monitor sales performance metrics and prepare regular reports
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand the customer base
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and retailers
  • Ensure timely collection of payments and manage credit limits
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities
  • Coordinate with marketing and product teams for promotional campaigns
  • Ensure proper execution of company policies and sales processes in the region
  • Key RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred)
  • 3–8 years of experience in sales, preferably in FMCG / Pharma / Consumer Durables (customizable)
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze data and make strategic decisions
