Clinical Assistant

1.   To undertake ward rounds once in duty time & along with consultants during Rounds of all consultants.

2.  To document vital parameters & findings of systemic examination in patient files following rounds & any other patient examinations, communication or procedures etc.

3.  To take bedside hand-over report on patients from the relieved Clinical Assistants to ensure no communication gap resulting in continuity of care

4.  To communicate any medical problems or concerns to Consultants.

5.  To act, as may be reasonably required, on behalf of the Consultant in their absence when requested

6.  Interacting with laboratory and imaging on critical results reported and making necessary interventions on advice of consultant incharge of the patient

7.  To follow the referral & Transfer policy both interdepartmental & to other Hospitals.

8.  To deal with reportable incidents of clinical nature and to respond appropriately during all codes.

9.  To participate fully in patient safety programs, quality improvement programs, infection control programs and program for protecting patients rights

10. Full compliance with good practices for prevention & control of hospital associated infections

11. To participate in audits, care reviews and mock drills

12. Appropriate indenting of lab and imaging requisitions with necessary diagnosis and medical history
