Phlebotomist

Job Summary​We are looking for a detail-oriented and patient-focused Phlebotomist to join our medical team. In this role, you will perform venipuncture and capillary punctures to collect blood samples. Your goal is to ensure the integrity of the specimens while providing a safe, calm, and professional experience for patients of all ages.

• ​Key Responsibilities​Specimen Collection: Perform blood draws (venipuncture and finger sticks) using various techniques and equipment (vacutainers, butterflies, and syringes).
• ​Patient Care: Identify patients via standard protocols, explain procedures to alleviate anxiety, and monitor patients for adverse reactions (e.g., fainting).
• ​Administrative Duties: Verify lab requisition forms, label vials accurately at the bedside, and enter patient data into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
• ​Quality Control: Maintain a sterile environment, ensure proper disposal of sharps and biohazardous waste, and adhere to infection control policies.
• ​Logistics: Prepare specimens for transport to the laboratory, ensuring proper storage temperatures and documentation.
• ​Required Skills & Qualifications​Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and various blood collection methods.
