Job Summary:

Castal Dies and Tools is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker / Fitter specializing in HPDC (High Pressure Die Casting) die manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fitting, assembling, maintaining, and repairing die casting tools, core inserts, ejector systems, and die components with precision and quality.

• Key Responsibilities:Die Fitting & AssemblyFit, assemble, and adjust components of HPDC dies, including cavities, cores, slides, ejector systems, and cooling channels.
• Ensure proper alignment, clearance, and functionality of all moving parts.
• Perform trial assembly and check die movements manually.
• Die Maintenance & RepairCarry out preventive and corrective maintenance of HPDC dies.
• Identify wear, damage, and dimensional deviations on die components.
• Repair and re-fit inserts, guides, bushes, pins, and other die elements.
• Support breakdown maintenance during production.
• Machining & Bench Work Perform handwork operations like filing, polishing, grinding, lapping, and bench fitting.
• Operate basic machines such as surface grinder, drilling machine, and conventional milling (if required).
• Inspection & Quality Read and interpret die drawings, 2D layouts, and component models.
• Measure components using Vernier, micrometer, slip gauges, height gauge, and dial gauge.
• Ensure all die components meet dimensional and surface finish requirements.
• Process & Team Coordination Collaborate with design, machining, and toolroom teams for smooth workflow.
• Provide feedback to engineers for die design improvements.
• Support die trials and testing during machine try outs.
• Qualifications & Skills:
• Education:ITI / Diploma in Tool & Die Making, Machinist, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience:
• 5–7 years experience in Tool & Die fitting, preferably in HPDC die manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of die casting tooling, ejector systems, cooling circuits, and slide mechanisms.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in die fitting, assembly, and maintenance.
• Ability to read complex die drawings.
• Knowledge of machining tolerances & surface finish standards.
• Familiarity with die steels, inserts, and heat treatment processes.
