Job Summary:

Castal Dies and Tools is looking for an experienced VMC Machine Programmer with strong expertise in Delcam to create, optimize, and manage CNC programs for machining dies, moulds, and precision components. The candidate should have deep knowledge of toolpaths, machining strategies, 3D models, and die–mould manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

VMC Programming

Create and optimize CNC programs using Delcam.

Develop 2D and 3D toolpaths for die and mould components.

Select suitable machining strategies (roughing, semi-finishing, finishing).

Validate toolpaths and ensure programs meet machining requirements.

Machine Setup Support

Coordinate with VMC operators for setup, tooling, and program loading.

Provide offset values, tool lists, fixture details, and machining parameters.

Technical & Process Development

Analyze the 3D models, engineering drawings, and job specifications.

Optimize cycle times to improve productivity and surface finish.

Recommend tooling, cutters, and machining processes for better results.

Quality Assurance

Ensure programs adhere to dimensional tolerances and surface finishing standards.

Work with the QC team to address machining deviations and process improvements.

Documentation & Communication

Maintain program records, revision history, and toolpath documentation.

Communicate effectively with design, production, and toolroom teams.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

Diploma / ITI / Degree in Mechanical, Tool & Die, Mechatronics, or related field.

Experience:

5–10 years of experience in VMC programming for die and mould manufacturing.

Hands-on working knowledge of Delcam PowerMILL, PowerShape, or similar CAM software.

Technical Skills:

Strong understanding of 3-axis / 4-axis machining operations.

Ability to read & interpret complex 2D/3D engineering drawings.

Expertise in cutting tools, machining parameters, and fixture planning.

Knowledge of Fanuc, Siemens, or Mitsubishi controller-based VMC machines.

Soft Skills:

Detail-oriented

Strong problem-solving ability

Good communication and teamwork skills

Ability to work under tight deadlines
