Job Description: Accountant – FMCG DistributionLocation: Prayagraj (Allahabad)

Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Accountant to manage end-to-end accounting functions for a large FMCG distribution setup. The role requires strong expertise in high-volume transactions, distributor accounting, inventory controls, and statutory compliance.

Key Responsibilities: Handle day-to-day accounting operations, including sales, purchases, expenses, and journal entries

  • Manage high-volume invoicing, distributor billing, credit notes, and debit notes
  • Monitor and reconcile accounts receivable and payable for distributors, super-stockists, and vendors
  • Oversee inventory and stock accounting, including inward/outward reconciliation and aging
  • Ensure accurate GST compliance (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, reconciliation with GSTR-2B)
  • Manage TDS compliance and statutory deductions
  • Conduct bank, cash, and ledger reconciliations
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports for management
  • Support internal and statutory audits
  • Coordinate with sales, warehouse, and logistics teams for financial accuracy and controls

Required Skills & Competencies: Strong understanding of FMCG distribution accounting and channel finance

  • Experience handling large-scale, high-transaction volumes
  • Hands-on expertise in Tally / ERP-based accounting systems
  • Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, and compliance frameworks
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines

Eligibility Criteria: Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com mandatory; M.Com preferred)

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in FMCG distribution accounting
  • Prior experience in a large distributor / CFA / super-stockist setup is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with Prayagraj and the surrounding trade markets will be an added advantage
