Title – Chemical Operator

Job Description Summary

Operates, monitors, and maintains chemical processes and equipment used in the manufacture of components, sub-assemblies, and finished products. Ensures proper handling, mixing, and processing of chemicals in accordance with defined procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations. Maintains accurate production records and supports continuous improvement while strictly adhering to environmental, health, and safety requirements.

Varex Imaging, headquartered in Salt Lake City, USA, is a leading innovator, developer, and manufacturer of X-ray imaging component solutions, which includes X-ray tubes, digital flat panel detectors, software, and other key components of X-ray imaging systems.


Your Role –

·      Operate and monitor chemical processing equipment such as reactors, mixers, coating lines, cleaning tanks, and material handling systems.

·       Prepare, measure, and mix chemical solutions according to approved formulations, SOPs, and work instructions.

·       Monitor process parameters (temperature, pressure, flow rates, concentrations) to ensure product quality and process stability.

·       Perform in-process inspections, sampling, and basic testing to verify conformance to specifications.

·       Record production data, batch records, and process logs accurately and in compliance with company standards.

·       Support process qualification and validation activities by following approved protocols and documenting results.

·      Assist in process capability studies, basic data collection, and measurement system activities as required.

·       Identify process deviations, report abnormalities, and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.

·       Follow and promote best practices related to chemical handling, waste disposal, and safety protocols.

·       Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Production teams to ensure smooth daily operations.

·       Perform routine equipment cleaning, basic troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance activities.

·      Support acceptance tests and cleaning verification as per specifications and work instructions.

·       Participate in continuous improvement and 5S initiatives within the chemical processing area.

·      Support training of new operators by following training plans and mentoring as required.

·      Ensure all activities comply with company procedures, ISO 13485, FDA regulations, and EHS requirements.


Your Profile…

• Diploma / ITI in Chemical , Chemistry, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience in chemical processing or manufacturing).

• 3-6 years of relevant experience as a Chemical Operator or in a similar manufacturing environment.

• Strong understanding of chemical safety, handling procedures, and process controls.

• Ability to read and follow SOPs, work instructions, and technical documentation.

• Willingness to work in a regulated manufacturing environment.
