Job Description: Counter Sales Staff – Sweet Shop

Position Overview

The Counter Sales Staff at the sweet shop is responsible for greeting customers, assisting them in selecting sweets and snacks, weighing and packing items, handling billing, and maintaining cleanliness and order at the counter. The role requires good customer service skills, basic hygiene awareness, and the ability to manage stock and display.

Key Responsibilities

1. Customer Handling & Sales

Greet customers warmly and understand their requirements.

Assist customers in selecting sweets, snacks, and beverages.

Weigh, pack, and label items accurately.

Provide product information such as ingredients, shelf life, and pricing.

Handle customer queries, complaints, and special requests politely.

Promote new items and upsell when appropriate.

Manage take-away counter sales efficiently during rush hours.

2. Billing & Cash Handling

Operate billing/POS system for generating bills.

Handle cash, card, and UPI transactions accurately.

3. Product Display

Arrange and display sweets, snacks, and other items neatly.

Ensure stock is placed properly in the counter and showcase.

Refill items on time and inform the kitchen/production team about low stock.

Check product freshness and remove expired or damaged items.

4. Cleaning & Hygiene

Maintain cleanliness of the counter, display racks, serving utensils, and work area.

Follow hygiene standards while handling sweets and food items.

Ensure packaging materials are clean and organized.

5. General Duties

Support other staff members during peak hours.

Follow shop policies and maintain discipline.

Ensure customer satisfaction through quick and friendly service.

Skills & Qualifications

Minimum Qualification 10th or below

10th/12th pass(Preferred).

Experience in sweet shop, bakery, or food retail preferred.

Good communication and customer service skills.

Basic math and billing knowledge.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Good personal hygiene and grooming.

Working Conditions

Full-time/Part time shift-based work.

Weekend and festival season working required.

Salary Range

₹10,000 – ₹15,000 per month + incentives(performance based)
