Head Service Engineer

Role Overview​The Service Head will lead the maintenance strategy and technical support team. You will be responsible for maximizing machine uptime, managing a team of service engineers, and ensuring that all CNC/VMC machines (and their peripheral systems) operate at peak precision and reliability.

​Key Responsibilities​1. Maintenance Strategy (TPM & Predictive)

• ​Preventive Maintenance (PM): Design and enforce a strict PM calendar for all CNC/VMC machines to prevent mid-shift failures.
• ​Predictive Maintenance: Use data and vibration/thermal analysis to predict spindle or ball-screw failures before they occur.
• ​Breakdown Management: Act as the "Level 3" technical expert for complex electrical, hydraulic, or mechanical breakdowns.

​2. Technical Leadership (CNC/VMC Specifics)

• ​Precision Calibration: Oversee laser calibration and ball-bar testing to ensure machines maintain micron-level accuracy.
• ​Controller Expertise: Manage troubleshooting for major controllers (Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Haas).
• ​Spindle & Axis Repair: Supervise high-precision repairs, including spindle reconditioning and ATC (Automatic Tool Changer) synchronization.

​3. Spare Parts & Inventory Management

• ​Critical Spares: Maintain a strategic inventory of "high-failure" items (sensors, limit switches, encoders, cooling fans) to ensure 24-hour repair cycles.
• ​Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with specialized service vendors and OEM spare part suppliers to get the best pricing and lead times.

​4. Team Management & Training

• ​Skill Development: Train junior service engineers on reading electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, and hydraulic circuits.
• ​Safety Compliance: Ensure the service team follows strict LOTO (Lock-Out, Tag-Out) procedures during maintenance.
