Lathe Machine Operator

Job SummaryWe are looking for a skilled Lathe Machine Operator to perform precision machining operations on conventional and/or CNC lathe machines for manufacturing components used in Special Purpose Machines (SPM). The candidate should have hands-on experience in turning operations and maintaining dimensional accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate Lathe Machines (Conventional )

• Perform operations like turning, facing, threading, drilling, boring, knurling, taper turning
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and process sheets
• Select proper cutting tools, inserts, speeds & feeds
• Ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish as per drawing
• Perform in-process inspection using measuring tools (vernier, micrometer, bore gauge, dial indicator)
• Carry out thread cutting (metric / inch) as required
• Maintain machine condition and perform basic preventive maintenance
• Follow safety procedures and shop discipline
• Maintain job records and report any deviation or machine issues
• 🔹 Required SkillsStrong knowledge of lathe operations and machining fundamentals
• Ability to read technical drawings, tolerances & fits
• Knowledge of threading, tolerances, and surface finish control
• Familiarity with cutting tools and inserts
• Basic knowledge of CNC lathe (preferred)
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• 🔹 QualificationsITI (Turner) / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• 2–5 years of experience in lathe machine operation
• Experience in SPM / machine manufacturing industry preferred
• 🔹 Key RequirementsExperience in machining shafts, bushes, housings, and precision parts
• Ability to hold close tolerances
