Milling & LatheJob SummaryThe Milling & Lathe Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining milling and lathe machines to produce precision metal parts according to engineering drawings and specifications. The role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate milling machines and lathe machines (manual and/or CNC).
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, attachments, and materials.
• Perform machining operations such as turning, drilling, boring, threading, and milling.
• Measure finished parts using precision instruments (vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Ensure parts meet quality and dimensional specifications.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning.
• Follow workplace safety rules and wear proper PPE.
• Maintain production records and report defects or issues.
• Collaborate with supervisors and quality control teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or technical/vocational certification in machining or mechanical trade.

• Proven experience operating milling and lathe machines.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Knowledge of machining processes, cutting speeds, and feeds.
• Familiarity with measuring instruments and quality standards.
• Basic knowledge of CNC programming (preferred).
