Job Description
- Food preparation: Assists chefs with food preparation and presentation, including chopping, slicing, boiling, steaming, and baking
- Kitchen maintenance: Ensures that kitchen equipment is in working order, cleaned and restocked
- Safety and hygiene: Maintains high standards of safety and hygiene in the kitchen
- Communication: Communicates with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service. Collaborating with team members to create a positive environment.
- Assisting with inventory management and supply orders.
- Kitchen policies: Adheres to kitchen policies
- Daily procedures: Carries out daily and weekly procedures, such as temperature checks, food labeling, and storage
- Kitchen hazards: Removes hazards and makes safe any defects in the kitchen or its equipment, and reports any problems to a senior chef
- Personal hygiene: Keeps high standards of personal hygiene, and wears a clean uniform
- And other responsibilities delegated by your supervisor
